01 How quickly can I get my refund?

It typically takes about 21 days for the IRS to send you your refund via direct deposit.

02 It has been 21 days since I filed my taxes. Where is my refund?

Many different factors can affect the timing of your refund. It usually takes 21 days for you to receive your refund, though it’s possible that it may take longer due to certain circumstances.

For instance, if your filed taxes include:

  • Errors or mistakes
  • Incomplete information
  • Identify theft or fraud
  • Earned income tax credit or child tax credit
  • Form 8379, injured spouse allocation (up to 14 weeks to process)
03 What documents do I need when doing my taxes?
  • Social security number or tax ID number
  • Your spouse’s full name and social security number or tax ID number
  • Date of birth and social security number or tax ID numbers of your dependents (if any)
  • Childcare records (if applicable)
  • Income of other adults in your home
  • Income of other adults in your home
    Form 8332 showing that the child’s parent is releasing their right to claim the child (if applicable)
  • Sources of income (Form W-2, 1099, 1040-ES, etc.)
  • Record of expenses
  • Records of income and expenses
  • Savings & investments or dividends
  • Other income & losses
  • Types of deductions (home ownership, medical expenses, charitable donations, educational expenses, etc.)

04 When will I get my COVID-19 stimulus money?

If you filed your taxes in 2019 and/or 2020, you should have received your first stimulus money via direct deposit in mid-April.

However, if the IRS does not have your banking information, then you will not receive your stimulus money. You must log on to IRS.gov to add your direct deposit information so that you can get your money right away.

05 Will you help me get my refund faster?

06 Where and when can I check my refund status?

You can check the status of your refund on IRS.gov or with our help. We can check on your status for you so that you don’t have to worry. We’ve got you covered.

07 Is there an age limit for claiming my child as a dependent?

To claim your child as a dependent, your child must be younger than 19 years of age, or be a student younger than 24 years of age. If your child is permanently disabeled, then there is no age limit.

08 What is a split refund?

A split refund allows you to divide your refund into any proportion that you want. You can opt for direct deposits into up to 3 different bank accounts when you request a split refund.
